STORIES FROM GELLERUP IN LIGHT AND SHADOW
In collaboration with residents of Gellerup, we are transforming the buildings around Verdenspladsen into stages for a large shadow theater featuring the art installation 'Gellerup’s Shadows'.
Over 100 local children, youth, and adults participated in workshops throughout the fall of 2024, where shadow puppets were created based on the question, “What is important to you?” A total of 198 shadow puppets were made, and over two weeks in November, we filmed more than 500 clips featuring the many puppets.
On 17 January 2025, the collective Gellerups Skygger will make its debut with three films projected onto the buildings around Verdenspladsen. The films will be accompanied by an original soundtrack created in collaboration with local musicians.
